Cardboard Boat Regatta

Date: Saturday, June 29, 2019
Staging & judging time: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Racing time: 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Location: Pleasant Lake, at the field near the dam parking area and at the boat ramp,
on Elkins Road, in New London, NH

This is a fun event for the whole family. Build your own cardboard boat and enter it in our Regatta. See how colorful and creative you can get, while building a boat that will still be able to navigate through our course!. All funds taken in will be used to send children to Barry Conservation Camp.

The cardboard boats are built, by you, in advance of the event. Each boat must be built entirely of cardboard, using the specifications we provide. You can build the boat following plans we provide or use your own plans and let your imagination run wild. Prizes will be awarded for the best design, best construction, fastest time on the course, and most spectacular sinking!

There are two divisions:
YOUTH Division:
For children (8 to 18 years old). The entry fee is $5.00 per boat. Children entering a boat must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
This division is sponsored by New Hampshire 4-H.
OPEN Division:
For anyone 8 years old and up. This division is intended for adults and families. The entry fee is $20.00 per boat. This division is sponsored by Elkins Fish & Game Club.

Participants must wear a Personal Floatation Device (PFD) to be able to go out on the water.

Event Parking

There will be several parking areas avaiable for the event. The preferred area will be at the King Solomon Mason's Lodge on Elkins Road. Thee will also be parking at the area across the street from the lodge. Ancillary parking will be available a short drive away at Marshall's garage on Elkins Road. For participants, we ask that you come to the Pleasant Lake dam area to drop off your boat before parking your car. The drop-off area will be marked.

To see where to drop off your boat or to see where you can park, we've created a map for you, which can be found here: Click here!
